The Interactio mobile app extends a church's own branding, not a generic template. Churches can upload their logo, update colors, and match the app's theme to each sermon series.

Core solutions
Interactio runs on Wi-Fi or mobile data and fully replaces traditional translation equipment. No receivers to distribute, no headsets to sanitize and charge, congregations use their own phones and earbuds.
Once the audio feed is connected, Interactio's AI translates the service in real time into any language, with no interpreter scheduled in advance.
A message doesn't have to stop at the door. Remote members, travelling congregants, and viewers around the world can join a service online and follow along in their own language, turning a local church into a global community.
Deaf and hard-of-hearing members can follow every word of the service on their own device, in real time. Inclusion doesn't stop at language.
Every church has different needs, different budgets, and different Sundays. AI covers everyday services, volunteers handle core languages, and certified professionals step in when the moment calls for it. Interactio lets each community find the balance that works, and change it anytime.
Starting a volunteer interpreting team does more than solve a language problem. It gives bilingual members a meaningful role, a sense of ownership, and a place to grow. A volunteer interpreting team can become one of the most quietly powerful things a congregation builds.

Churches
How does live translation work during a church service?
Interactio sends the translated audio straight to each member's phone while the speaker talks. How the translation is produced depends on the option you choose. With volunteer interpreters, bilingual members translate from a separate room or booth, and their voice goes through the Interactio mobile app to listeners' phones. With AI translation or a certified interpreter, your tech team sends a livestream of the service to Interactio (audio only for AI, audio and video for a certified interpreter), and the translated audio reaches listeners in the same app. Most churches that already livestream are ready to go.
What equipment does a church need for live translation?
A church needs only an audio feed from its soundboard. If you already livestream, you likely have everything you need. You send the audio directly into the Interactio platform (certified interpreters also need a video feed), and an interpreter or the AI takes it from there. Members listen on their own phones and earbuds, so there is no extra hardware for them to buy. Volunteer interpreters don't need a livestream at all, since they can work from a separate room with a direct audio feed.
How do church members listen to live translation on their phones?
Members listen with the Interactio mobile app or in a browser, and no download is required. Most churches turn their event link into a QR code and display it on the screen or in the bulletin, so members just scan it and listen on any phone. You can set your event to repeat weekly, so the same link and QR code work every Sunday and regulars always know where to go.
Does Interactio offer live closed captions for church services?
Yes. Live closed captions show the service as text in real time on a member's phone, which helps deaf and hard-of-hearing members and anyone who likes to read along. Captions work alongside AI translation, volunteer interpreters, or certified interpreters, and you can turn them on whenever you want. Interactio is mainly audio translation: members put in their earbuds, open the Interactio mobile app on their own phone, and hear the service in their language as the speaker talks.
Which languages does Interactio support for churches?
AI translation covers about 60 languages. These include Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Arabic, French, Hindi, and Haitian Creole, and they are available instantly with no scheduling. For certified interpreters, Interactio can find a professional for virtually any language, though these are booked in advance. Volunteer interpreters can work in whatever languages your congregation speaks, so if you have bilingual members, you're covered.
What's the difference between AI translation, volunteer interpreters, and certified interpreters?
There are three options, and they differ in cost, scheduling, and accuracy. (1) AI translation works any time with no scheduling. Once your audio is connected, it translates the service in real time. It costs less than a human professional, which makes it a practical option for every service. (2) Volunteer interpreters are bilingual members of your own congregation. They know your pastor and your community, and this option is free. Many churches have hidden talent in their pews, so if you have willing people, Interactio encourages you to try it. (3) Certified interpreters are trained professionals, many with a church background, who understand what it takes to interpret a pastor. This is the top tier for accuracy and delivery. They are booked in advance and paid per service.
How accurate is AI translation for sermons and scripture?
AI translation works well for regular services, and it gets better when it knows your church. Expect the translation to trail the speaker by about five seconds. To improve accuracy, set up a glossary of names, scripture terms, and phrases your pastor uses often, so they are translated consistently. AI doesn't match a skilled human interpreter for nuance and emotional delivery. If you want the highest accuracy, a certified interpreter is the better choice, and you can switch between the two whenever you like. You can also hear AI translation for yourself with a free test service.
Can a church mix AI, volunteer, and certified interpreters in one service?
Yes. Within a single event, you can use a volunteer for one language, a certified interpreter for another, and AI for a third. Churches mix the options to balance volunteer availability and budget. A human interpreter can take over a language at any time, and when they step away, AI picks that language back up automatically. Some churches send Interactio their volunteer schedule at the start of each month, and Interactio makes sure every service is covered.
How much does live translation for a church cost, and is AI translation included?
Volunteer interpreters are always free. AI translation is an optional add-on that you turn on when you want it, and certified interpreters are paid per service. Both paid options are quoted around your church's size, the languages you need, and how often you hold services, so there is no single fixed price. Fill out the quote form and Interactio will put together a proposal and walk you through exactly what is included, working with you to find the right fit for your budget.
Can our church try Interactio before committing?
Yes. Interactio runs free test services with no commitment, so you can hear how it sounds in your own church before deciding anything. Fill out the quote form and someone from the team will reach out to set it up.
Does Interactio require a long-term contract?
No. You can cancel the platform and AI translation at any time. Certified interpreters work differently: they are booked in advance for specific services, so if you've booked an interpreter, you're expected to use those services. Interactio is happy to walk you through the terms before you commit, so there are no surprises.
How does Interactio differ from free or cheap AI translation apps?
Interactio's first client was a church, and it has served congregations for 12 years, including Elevation, Hillsong, The Send, and Victory Church. Free apps can be a good way to start, and Interactio offers AI translation too. The difference is what comes with it: volunteer and certified interpreters work on the same platform and can take over any language at any moment, so you can add human quality whenever you want it. You can try it first with a free test service, and you can put your church's logo and colors on the Interactio mobile app.
